The federal government of Nigeria has announced the inclusion of 15 skill acquisition courses into the curriculum of Primary and Junior Secondary schools across the nation.
Starting from the 2025 academic year, students will have the opportunity to select one skill from these 15 options, receiving both theoretical and practical instruction throughout their primary and junior secondary education, spanning nine years from Primary 1 to JSS 3.
To support this initiative, teachers across both public and private schools nationwide will undergo training and retraining, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver these courses.
The government aims to foster a generation of skilled individuals ready to meet the demands of various industries.
