The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates (Second Series). This announcement was made on Sunday by WAEC’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina.
According to Adesina, a total of 65,023 candidates sat for the examination. Out of this number, 43,923 candidates (67.55%) earned credits or higher in at least five subjects. Additionally, 34,878 candidates (53.64%) secured credits and above in five subjects, including both English Language and Mathematics—a key requirement for higher education admission in Nigeria.
Adesina described this year’s results as promising, stating that the performance indicates a notable improvement among candidates.

1. Visit WAEC’s official result-checking website – Go to www.waecdirect.org.
2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number – This is a combination of your centre number and your candidate number.
3. Input the Examination Year – In this case, select 2024.
4. Select the Examination Type – Choose ‘Private Candidate Results’ from the drop-down menu.
5. Enter your e-PIN details – This includes the e-PIN Voucher Number and the Personal Identification Number (PIN) from your e-PIN.
6. Click ‘Submit’ – Your results will be displayed on the screen.
