A Federal High Court sitting presided by Justice Emmanuel Ayoola in Osogbo, on Tuesday, has approved the bail application of an aide to the state Governor, Oyeyemi Olalekan popularly called Emir.

Emir, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun has been remanded in Ile-Ife Custodial facility since he was first arraigned on February 1, 2024.
He is facing a 10-count of Terrorism and Murder.
He was alleged to have killed some members of the All Progressives Congresss (APC) in the state.
His counsel, Edmund Z Biriomoni, Esq, had during the last sitting on March 19, moved the application for the bail of the defendant.
He sought an order of the court admitting the defendant applicant to bail pending the hearing and determination of the amended charge.
Justice Ayoola while giving his ruling on the bail application, said the prosecutor has failed to provide sufficient evidence to deny the applicant the bail.
He said the prosecution was still making efforts to bring the evidence to support the charges levelled against Emir, seven months after he was arrested.
He thereafter granted Emir bail in the sum of 50 million naira with two sureties in the same amount to the defendant.
The judge said one of the sureties must be a government-recognized traditional ruler in Osun State.
Justice Ayoola said the second surety should be a level 17 civil servant or member of the National Assembly.
The sureties according to the judge must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
He also asked Emir to file and undertake an affidavit of good behaviour and promise not to be involved in any act that can jeopardise the case.
The sum of N5m was also directed to be deposited to the court registrar by the defendant applicant.
He adjourned the case till May 16 for trial.
