Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has offered automatic employment to Hassana Nazifi Shehu Minjibir, a visually impaired graduate of B.A. (Ed) Special Education from Bayero University, Kano. Minjibir’s determination and resilience in pursuing self-reliance impressed the governor during a women’s empowerment programme, prompting his immediate decision to support her.
In a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Yusuf praised Minjibir’s perseverance in overcoming challenges to achieve her academic and career goals. He described her as an inspiration and assured her of the government’s unwavering support.
“As a mark of my compassion and recognition of her tenacity, I have not only offered her immediate employment but also promised to appoint her to the board of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Commission, which will soon be established in the state,” the governor announced.
To ensure swift action, Yusuf directed the Kano State Head of Service to fast-track Minjibir’s employment into the state civil service. “I’ve instructed the Kano State Head of Service to expedite the process of Minjibir’s employment into the state civil service without delay,” he stated.
This move underscores the governor’s commitment to inclusivity and empowering individuals with special needs, reinforcing his administration’s dedication to ensuring equal opportunities for all.
