The Lagos State University (LASU) has marked a historic milestone as the university management convened its first-ever meeting at the Epe Campus, offering a unique platform to delve into the remarkable strides of the LASU School of Agriculture (LASUSOA) and assess hostel facilities.
The University Management of Lagos State University (LASU) recently held its management meeting at the Epe Campus, breaking new ground and signaling a strategic shift in administrative focus.
The meeting, presided over by Adenike Boyo, deputy vice-chancellor, administration, took advantage of the occasion to engage with both staff and students at the LASU School of Agriculture (LASUSOA), which graciously hosted the event.
Due to the unforeseen absence of the Vice Chancellor, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Boyo assumed the helm, steering the discussions through various agenda items, including insightful presentations from T. F. Abanikanda, the dean of LASUSOA.
Post-meeting, a captivating interactive session unfolded, where the dean, Abanikanda, utilized a compelling combination of slide presentations and a video documentary to showcase the remarkable achievements of the School of Agriculture since its inception in 2015.
Expressing gratitude, Abanikanda acknowledged the unwavering support from the principal officers, emphasizing the transformative impact of their interventions.
“We wanted to come to Ojo to say thank you to the management for all the interventions we have received. But management instead decided to come to us and bring its meeting here. We appreciate you, and I promise that every kobo that is invested in the school will produce the desired results,” remarked Abanikanda.
In response, Boyo, representing the VC articulated the administration’s commitment to the School of Agriculture, stating, “The School of Agriculture is so important to this administration, and we are hoping that one day, very soon, it will grow to become a University of Agriculture.”
Commending the dean for fostering growth, she encouraged continued synergy among the staff.
The visit concluded with members of the university management receiving accolades in the form of award plaques, presented by professors from the School of Agriculture as a token of appreciation for their steadfast support.
Embarking on the next phase of their visit, the management conducted a thorough assessment of hostel facilities at the Epe campus.
With the imminent resumption of students, the inspection aimed to ensure that the accommodations provide an adequate and conducive environment for both fresh and returning students.
Rafiu Okuneye, head of Epe campus, along with Nurudeen Raji and Isaiah Akoteyon, added further substance to the visit, receiving members of the management alongside senior officials of the campus.
