Concerns have been raised regarding the transparency of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration process, as discrepancies in the reported registration fees and changes in material distribution methods come to light.
While JAMB initially communicated registration fees of 3500 and 4700, it has been brought to public attention that the actual cost is 6200.
Additionally, for those opting for the optional mock examination, the total fee is 7700. This disparity has left students and parents puzzled and frustrated.
Moreover, a notable educator, Muyiwa Aladeyelu, based in Ekiti, has expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of clarity in JAMB’s communication. Aladeyelu emphasizes that students won’t receive physical novels this year, but instead, they will be provided with soft copies. This shift in the distribution method has added another layer of confusion for candidates preparing for the upcoming examinations.
Aladeyelu urges JAMB to be transparent and straightforward in their communication, emphasizing the importance of clarity in the registration process. The educator contends that misleading information can lead to unnecessary stress for students and their families.
Festus another educator in lagos also added that the registration and other fees will definitely make the fees to be inconsistent.
According to him, we must strive to always elevate the standard of education and stakeholders must support JAMB.
He stresssed that DE students must be ready to show that they are fully ready for the enormmous tasks ahead of them.
“The DE fee for the 2024/2025 session is tagged at N3,500. Other payments include N700 for the CBT Centre registration service charge, N1,500 for the CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME and N500 for bank charges/commission”
This amounts to N6,200 for candidates who are not sitting for the MOCK examination and N7,700 will be paid by those who would sit for the MOCK examination.
As students gear up for the registration process, the call for stress-free registration has become more pronounced. It remains to be seen how JAMB will address these concerns and whether additional measures will be taken to ensure a smoother and more transparent registration experience for all candidates.
